SOMA

Erasmus Toscano, Marcus Andrews and Itunu Ikejolabi met in early 2024 playing as a part of the 'Boite' ensemble at Melbourne Polytechnic. The chemistry was unmatched and following a good year of honing our craft after the subject had ended, Guitarist, Wesley Lam had stumbled into our line of sight.

His sound was unique of course but his motivation and devotion to this band was something else. Wesley introduced us to Josh, an extremely talented producer and as soon as we heard the almost spooky and atmospheric guitar hovering around the intense rhythmic piano and drums following our first recording, we knew Josh was perfect for the job. 

Attending Jazz jam's on the regular, Erasmus was able to invite acclaimed Jazz bassist Seba Negri up to the plate, the final piece of the puzzle. And as soon as he said, "how many times do you guys rehearse a week?" 'Soma' was formed...
